Every University’s IQAS is periodically subject to evaluation for accreditation purposes by the Hellenic Quality Assurance and Accreditation Agency (HQA). The general criteria for accreditation include:
• establishing clearly defined objectives and ensuring the continuous improvement of the quality of study programmes and support services of the institution,
• the process of policy planning, effective organisation and the decision-making process for continuous improvement of quality,
• the process of implementing the policy of continuously improving quality,
• the documented improvement of quality.
The University of Crete IQAS was granted accreditation by the HQA in September 2019, following external review of the IQAS by an HQA appointed Panel. The Panel’s review indicates that the University IQAS is fully compliant with HQA Principles and with the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG).
The full text of the Panel’s evaluation report is available in English here (pdf) and the Accreditation Certificate here (pdf).
The IQAS accreditation is valid for four-years (10-09-2019 to 09-09-2023).
