The University of Crete participates in the most important international ranking organizations such as Times Higher Education (THE), QS, Clarivate Analytics, Shanghai Ranking (ARWU), U-Multirank, achieving significant positions.

The systematic monitoring and participation of the institution in the rankings of international organizations aims, on the one hand, to highlight the institution's performance in education and research, and on the other hand, to attract international collaborations

At the same time, participation in international rankings acts in a complementary and reinforcing manner in monitoring the indicators and criteria used to evaluate the educational and research work within the Internal Quality Assurance System of the Institution.
