Responsibilities of the Students' Council
The Students’ Council of the Higher Education Institution (HEI) represents students enrolled in undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs of the HEI. It serves as the official communication channel between students and the HEI’s administrative bodies, with the following responsibilities:
a) Submits proposals to the HEI’s administrative bodies regarding:
aa) Student welfare matters
ab) Improvement of student learning conditions
ac) Enhancement of the quality of the HEI’s study programs
ad) Implementation of measures to ensure equal access for students with disabilities and special educational needs to:
– Physical and digital infrastructure and equipment
– Information and communication resources
– Educational and research processes and activities
– Assessment procedures
– Educational material (print, contractual, and digital)
– HEI support services
b) Elects student representatives to:
– The HEI’s administrative bodies
– Other committees and bodies requiring student representation
c) Submits proposals to the HEI’s Administrative Council and Senate regarding:
– Educational and research strategy formulation
d) Proposes to the HEI’s Rector the implementation of:
– Programs, initiatives, seminars
– Informational events
– Other related activities
(In collaboration with public sector entities as defined in Article 14(1a) of Law 4270/2014 or with social organizations)
e) Collaborates with:
– Administrative bodies
– Academic and administrative staff
(To serve student interests)
f) Exercises any other responsibilities defined in the HEI’s internal regulations
Term of Office: The Students’ Council serves a one-year term.

In cases where a Students’ Council has not been established, the selection of undergraduate (first-cycle) student representatives shall be conducted through an open call for expressions of interest. This process is initiated by a formal decision of the Quality Assurance Unit (MODIP), which specifies:
The evaluation criteria
The composition of the selection committee
The aforementioned decision must be issued and the selection process completed within a reasonable timeframe:
Prior to the expiration of the current representatives’ term
Before the end of the term of the Head of the Quality Assurance Unit
Selection Methodology:
For such cases, representatives shall be selected based on academic ranking, subject to the following minimum eligibility requirements:
Must be beyond their second semester of study
Must not be scheduled to graduate before completing their representative term
Evaluation Criterion:
Highest average number of ECTS credits per semester
In case of equal standing, selection will be determined by lottery
Term and Voting Rights:
Representatives serve annual terms
Hold voting rights on matters pertaining to their undergraduate student status
Representatives of postgraduate students and PhD candidates

For doctoral candidates:
- Must be beyond their first year of study
- Must not be scheduled to complete their degree before finishing their term with MODIP

- Representatives serve annual terms
- Hold voting rights on matters pertaining to their respective academic level
