Quality Assurance
and continuous improvement of the quality of educational and research work
The University of Crete is responsible for ensuring and continuously improving the quality of its educational and research work, as well as for the effective operation and performance of its services, in accordance with international practices, particularly those of the European Higher Education Area and the principles and guidelines of the Hellenic Authority for Higher Education (HAHE).
To this end, the competent body, the Quality Assurance Unit (QAU-MODIP) of the University of Crete, is responsible for the organization, operation, and continuous improvement of the Internal Quality Assurance System (IQAS). This system defines the implementation and coordination of internal evaluation processes for academic and administrative units, as well as the support of external evaluation and accreditation processes, in line with the principles, guidelines, and directives of HAHE.

Strategic Planning
The University of Crete aims to capitalize on both the tradition created by the quality of its academic activity and its close links with the research and innovation ecosystem of Crete, as well as the exceptional quality and diversity of life in Crete, in order to become one of the world's top 200 universities by 2025, fulfilling criteria of excellence in teaching and research.
Quality Policy
The University of Crete implements a quality assurance policy, which is part of its strategic planning. This policy is developed and specialized in the areas of action of the University of Crete, is made public, and is implemented by all stakeholders.


Quality Objectives
The University of Crete establishes clear and defined objectives to ensure and continuously improve the quality of the study programs provided, research and innovation activities, as well as its scientific and administrative services.
