Evaluation

The term "evaluation," used to describe a quality assurance process, consists of the systematic, documented, and detailed assessment, highlighting, and recording of the work of the University of Crete, using objective criteria, as well as the critical analysis and identification of existing weaknesses and deviations in relation to the academic identity, goals, and mission of the Institution.

Internal evaluation is a regularly repeated participatory process and is conducted under the responsibility of the Institution's Quality Assurance Unit (QAU). It is essentially a self-evaluation process that reflects the identity of the University of Crete (or the academic unit), as it captures and highlights all aspects of its operation, both positive and negative, and records its goals.

The internal evaluation process is completed with the preparation of the Internal Evaluation Report, which is approved by the administration of the Institution (or the academic unit) and submitted to the Hellenic Authority for Higher Education (HAHE) to be followed by the external evaluation process.
